What is a book that changed your life?

I love asking folks this question! You probably have an answer, it may come quickly or take a couple of days... But it always leads to some good conversation and ideas.

It might be something your parents read to you while growing up or maybe it was a book that completely changed the way that you view the world or altered your reality.

For me, it was probably the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine. EVERY chapter was a cliffhanger, so I WANTED to stay up all night reading! And many times I'd fall asleep with those books on my chest. Those are good memories. They were a gateway to my current love of reading.

Flash forward, what are some other books that changed my life?

Anything by Stephen King, again, he made me want to read until sunrise. His characters and their development are some of my favorite in Fiction. The Harry Potter series (of course), I read these books for the first time at the tender age of 32 and they made me laugh, cry and scream in triumph countless times. "BE THE LIGHT." Personal development? Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Red Book of Selling changed my life. That book led to countless others, which led to a shift in my attitude, the way I carry myself and I've met some beautiful humans through Jeffrey and his community. Other books that I've found through Jeffrey (directly and indirectly), are: Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, Thinkertoys, by Michael Michalko, The Four Agreements (and Fifth), by Don Miguel Ruiz, ANYTHING by Jim Rohn and Earl Nightingale (their audio programs are my favorite) and there are countless others. These authors and their thoughts and IDEAS have made me a better man, husband, dad and friend.

Reading and applying can do so much good in your life. As Jim Rohn says, "All of the information that you need to succeed already exists, the problem is, you just haven't exposed yourself to it, yet."

So today, what are you reading?

Let's swap books!

Stay Resilient,

Joe
